    Bike Week is the UK's largest mass participation cycling event and provides an annual opportunity to promote cycling as a source of fitness and fun, not to mention an alternative form of transport. This year, Bike Week 2009 is encouraging everyone to 'get more out of life'- by getting on your bikes, exploring your local community and finding out just how convenient cycling is for all those short trips we make each day.

    The ‘Slick ‘n Knobbly Cycling Festival’ is a new event for 2009 centred around 2 days of cycling fun. Its objective is to create a widely recognised celebration of cycling that encourages both new and experienced cyclists, of all ages and abilities, across a variety of events and coaching/skills sessions to enjoy and experience the fun that cycling provides.   • 6 August 2009 - Red Kite MTB Bash

    Llanwrytd Wells welcomes cyclists for four days of pedalling and fun in the rugged and beautiful Cambrian Mountains. Participants can choose their ideal distance on each day of the Red Kite Mountain Bike Bash.

    Activities include guided rides, orienteering events, night rides and skills courses. All routes are marked and there's plenty of entertainment in the evening, if you're not too shattered by the day's exertions.
